Lifestyle Modification Program ('new lease of life)
Supporting people to prevent or delay the occurrence of Type 2 Diabetes
About the program ( Factsheet - Riverina / Broken Hill)

The Pre-diabetes program, otherwise known as the Lifestyle Modification Program ('New lease of life') is an integral component of the broader National Prevention of Type 2 Diabetes Program initiated in 2008 as part of the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) – Reducing the Risk of Type 2 Diabetes’ initiative. The Division was successful in achieving National accreditation from the Department of Health and Ageing to convert its existing Pre-Diabetes program into a Lifestyle Modification Program in 2008. The program is currently run in Wagga Wagga and surrounding towns of the Riverina in response to the rapidly increasing chronic health issue of type 2 diabetes. The program is free to attend.
