A one-stop exercise shop for patients with lifestyle risk factors or chronic diseases

About the Program (  Factsheet)

Heartmoves is a low to moderate exercise program managed by the Heart Foundation that has been designed by health and fitness experts to specifically cater for people who are managing lifelong health conditions as well as those with risk factors such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obesity or depression.

Heartmoves classes are open to anyone and provide the opportunity for people with stable lifestyle conditions to become active for life by joining a fun, social and safe exercise program.

Classes are lead by an accredited exercise professional specifically trained in managing safe low to moderate exercise programs. Classes are freestyle delivery within safety guidelines and include a warm up, aerobic conditioning, strength and resistance work and a cool down. Heartmoves classes are a great way for clients to start a gentle exercise program in a friendly atmosphere at their own pace.

Heartmoves provides local capacity to absorb referrals from GPs, Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists, Cardiac Rehabilitation, Diabetes Education, Stroke Rehabilitation, Respiratory Rehabilitation and Chronic Disease programs into a one-stop exercise shop
