  • 10 new headspace sites announced

    The locations of ten new headspace centres have been announced by the Federal Government and headspace. The new centres are part of the $78 million funding package for headspace announced in the May Federal Budget. The first raft of those centres will be located in areas of high need.

About the Division

The Riverina Division of General Practice and Primary Health Ltd (RDGH&PH) was established in 1993 and is a not-for-profit organisation strongly committed to improving health outcomes for individuals and the community.

The Division’s Head Office is situated in Wagga Wagga NSW within the catchment area of the Greater Southern Area Health Service. The Division expanded its boundaries with the incorporation of the former Barrier Division of General Practice in July 2008 and has an office in Broken Hill within the catchment area of the Greater Western Area Health Service.

The Division’s boundaries now encompass the communities of Wagga Wagga, Adelong, Ardlethan, Ariah Park, Barmedman, Batlow, Coolamon, Cootamundra, Ganmain, Gundagai, Henty, Junee, Lockhart, Stockinbingal, Talbingo, Tarcutta, Temora, The Rock, Tumbarumba, Tumut, West Wyalong, Ungarie, Broken Hill, Tibooburra, White Cliffs, Wilcannia, Ivanhoe and Menindee.

A leading Division providing General Practice with quality innovative services that improve health outcomes for individuals and the community.

The Division will empower General Practitioners to improve the health of the community by assisting with:

  • Effective support, communication and representation.
  • Enhancing the quality of general practice.

Division Board

A Board of Directors, consisting of six General Practitioners (GPs) and three community members, governs all Divisional activities. In addition specific GP Committees oversee program development for the Division. The current Division Board is: Dr Tony Hobbs (Chair), Dr Ken Mackey, Dr Max Graffen (Treasurer), Dr Peter Keith, Dr Ayman Shenouda, Dr Mary Ross, Ms Sue McAlpin, Mrs Elizabeth Lyne and Mr Graham Gorrel.

Division programs

The Division’s strategic direction has three main focus areas: General Practitioner Workforce and Professional Development, Enhancing General Practice and working with Key Stakeholders to improve primary health outcomes.
